In 1887, Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr. built a castle-like distillery in Millville, KY. Over the years it fell into ruin until it was purchased in 2012 by the team behind Castle & Key. This set of 2022 Restoration Rye Whiskey and 2023 Small Batch Bourbon let you try out some of their core products. Both from the third batches of the spirits, the Rye expression has a sweet, spicy nose with core flavors of toasted marshmallow, orange peel, and berry, and a slightly sweet, peppery finish. The Bourbon is among the first bourbon distillates to have been distilled and released at the Historic Old Taylor Distillery in nearly five decades. Aged four years, it offers flavors of red fruit, cherry, rose, and oak that blend into a smooth, satisfying finish.
